a bit about me:
Hi, I'm Monique.
I care about education and social equity, and I've spent more than fifteen years working to widen the path to and through college.
My career started in 2010 with TRIO Talent Search at Dallas College, a federally funded program that helps first-generation and low-income students reach college. I led workshops on college exploration, applications, financial aid, and career planning. I went on to spend more than a decade at The University of Texas at Dallas:

managing an Executive MBA program for physician leaders in the Naveen Jindal School of Management
I earned my Master of Public Affairs in 2018 and my Ph.D. in Public Affairs from UT Dallas in 2026.
My dissertation tracked all 50 states from 2019 to 2025 to understand who passes anti-DEI laws in higher education and what changes afterward. You can explore the findings on my Research page.
Today I focus on education policy, student success, and helping people translate their experience into a strong personal brand, resume, and career strategy.
